Last night the President gave his annual State of the Union speech. His speech lasted about one hour and five minutes; He covered a lot of good things and a lot of bad things.
The big point of the speech was, if you have a problem, don’t worry we have a government program to fix that. The SOTU address was all about expanding the size of the federal government drastically.
He threatened to bypass congress and use his “pen” and by pen he means executive orders, to advance his extreme left socialist agenda. Barack Obama doesn’t understand that the big government system doesn’t work. Give me ONE example that the big government, socialist agenda has actually worked.
The Economy: The president and the rest of democrats tout that the employment rate is going down and they’ve added 8 million jobs to the workforce. What they refuse to understand is that this is the lowest workforce participation rate since 1978. Unemployed Americans have quit looking for work because this “recovery” is garbage. We are still in a depression, folks; and it won’t get any better till we change the route of this country.
Gun Control: Obama brought up the tragedy that happened in Newtown, CT again to push his gun control measures. You know what they say; “Never let a tragedy go to waste.” He couldn’t get a simple gun control bill passed thru the democratically controlled Senate. He WILL use an executive order to have the UN Gun Treaty Ban made into law. That is going to happen, people.
Healthcare: He only mentioned his “signature” piece of legislator a select number of times. He is stating it is working, and all the kinks will be worked out of it as soon as possible. He then lied to every American watching the SOTU last night by stating, “Everyone will be covered. No one will be left behind.” When in fact, over 5 million Americans received cancelations stating their insurance plan isn’t sufficient enough to be legal.
If we really want healthcare cost to go down here is what to do; repeal obamacare fully. Let the people buy insurance across state lines, offer more competition for the insurance companies to compete for us, the buyers. Prices will go down. Most people don’t realize the insurance industry is the most regulated industry in the United States. Cut regulations and the prices will go down. Yes some regulations are necessary, but not every single one that is currently in place.
Global Warming: errr… I mean “Climate Change”: Obama stated that Climate change is FACT. Well, yes it is a fact Mr. President, the ice age happened, and then it melted. But don’t tell me that all the “crazy” weather we’ve been having is all Man-made. No. please show me scientific evidence that proves your statement, president and I want a scientific fact that isn’t done by left wing socialist puppets like you, I want a bipartisan group or panel to get the facts. And No, a carbon tax does not work. It’s just another way to get our hard earned money.
Immigration Reform: I am all for immigration reform, overhaul. Call it what you want. The system is old and needs to be updated. Before we do anything we need to close our borders. Have a completely finished secured double fence built at our borders. Then we can work out the rest of the details but first and foremost build a border and secondly, NO amnesty. They broke the law; they need to be deported immediately. I would say throw them in jail but our jails are already overpopulated with non-violent drug offenders... Don’t get me started on that.
